50 Glorious Years Of Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan

November 7, 1969, saw the beginning of a new era for the Indian film industry and the day Bollywood received one of its finest actors - Amitabh Bachchan. The shahenshah of Bollywood made his acting debut on this day with the film Saat Hindustani and today he marks an illustrious and successful journey of 50 years!
He made his way into the hearts of millions of people with his smouldering, angry young man looks in cult classic movies like Deewar, Sholay, Coolie, Mard, Zanjeer, to name a few. His amazing dialogue delivery and personality gave the Hindi film industry some of the finest and most remembered dialogues that are enacted even after decades. His talent and relatable personality made him the people’s actor, who had his fans and the entire country wailing and praying when he met with the horrifying accident in 1983 on the set of the movie Coolie.
Late 90s saw a rise in the new crop of actors in the industry and the then 50-something Amitabh struggled to maintain his dominance in the industry that he once ruled. So like most actors, he had a rough patch in his career too but like a phoenix, he rose again and proved why he is called the best actor in Bollywood.
In the early 2000s, he stepped into the world of television at a time when no actor would have dared to do so. This decision resulted in Amitabh hosting one of the most popular gaming shows in Indian television history for almost two decades now, perfectly balancing between television and films.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that even after 50 years, this legendary actor can still give the new lot of actors a run for their money.
He will soon be seen sharing the screen with Ayushmann Khurrana in his next movie Gulabo Sitabo.
