Akshay Kumar took to social media to reveal this character in a very special way. He can be seen wearing a red saree with anger filled in eyes. He is standing in front of a statue of Goddess Durga. The actor wrote, “Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion, I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi. A character I am both excited and nervous about… but then life begins at the end of our comfort zone…isn’t it? #LaxmmiBomb”
The movie will star Akshay Kumar as Raghav and Kiara Advani as Aisha Sheikh, in the lead roles. The cast will also include Amitabh Bachchan, Tushar Kapoor and Tarun Arora. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on 22nd May, 2020 coinciding with Eid al-Fitr.
The movie is a remake of a Tamil Film “Muni 2: Kanchana” which was released back in 2011. The story revolves around the tribulations of a man who has a fear of supernatural and is possessed by the ghost of a transgender, Laxmmi. The film was announced in the second half of January earlier this year. Director Raghava Lawrence announced that his Tamil film would be remade in Hindi. The shoot and principal photography began on 22nd April, 2019.
