Colin Farrell To Join The Cast Of 'The Batman'
Ever since the news broke that our all-time favourite vampire - Robert Pattison will be donning the cape of the dark knight in the upcoming movie The Batman, the fans of the DC superhero have been waiting to know more about the cast of the movie. The new reports regarding the upcoming origin story for the Caped Crusader suggest that we might soon get some interesting cast on board to play some of the most iconic characters from the Batman series.
For starters, we may see Colin Farrell portraying the character of Penguin in The Batman. The Irish actor is in talks to play mobster Oswald Cobblepot, who is best known in the DC world as his villainous alter ego the Penguin. Colin was last seen in Tim Burton’s Dumbo, that released earlier this year.
Also, he is not the only big name that has come out as the cast for the movie. English actor and director Andy Serkis is also being considered to play the iconic role of Alfred Pennyworth, the loyal butler of the Wayne family and a special aid to Bruce Wayne.
The film will be helmed by director-filmmaker Matt Reeves who is best known for directing movies like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes.
Besides Robert Pattison, the confirmed cast for the movie so far is Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.
Robert has hinted that his character in the movie will be seen in a dark side as he believes that Batman is a “complicated character”.
The character of Batman was last seen been played by Ben Affleck, who appeared in 2016 movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Christian Bale also played the iconic role in the superhit Dark Knight trilogy that was directed by noted director Christopher Nolan.
