Finn Wittrock Joins Ben Affleck In upcoming erotic thriller 'Deep Water'
Finn Wittrock is riding high after the success of his last movie, Judy. The movie was based on the life of legendary singer and actress Judy Garland and is one of the leading contenders for the Oscars. And now, Finn is all set to star in the upcoming erotic thriller Deep Water, that also features Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas.
Although, the details of the roles to be portrayed by the cast is currently unknown, it is being reported that the film is based on a 1957 novel of the same name by Patricia Highsmith.
The story follows a small-town couple, Vic and Melinda Van Allen, who are in a loveless marriage in which the wife is allowed to take lovers, to stave off divorce, as long as she does not desert the family. However, complications arise when the husband takes credit for the unsolved murder of the family of one of the former lovers.
The movie will be directed by Adrian Lyne, who have been missing from the movie scene for more than 18 years. He will be back to the director’s chair with this erotic thriller. The script of the movie is being written by Zach Helm and Sam Levinson.
The film will also star Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Dash Mihok, Lil Rel Howery, Jacob Elordi, Kristen Connolly and Jade Fernandez.
Adrian Lyne’s last movie as a director was Unfaithful (2002) and it featured Richard Gere and Diane Lane. The thriller was a box office hit and won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination as well.
Ben Affleck was last seen in the action adventure Triple Frontier, that came out earlier this year and will also direct and produce King Leopold’s Ghost, a factual drama about Belgium’s King Leopold II’s exploitation and pillaging of the Congo in the late 1800s.
