John Abraham Dons Intense Gangster Look In 'Mumbai Saga'
One look at the box office collections and critics reports for his last few movies and you’d agree that John Abraham has been hitting the right hook lately. Right from Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Satyameva Jayate, Romeo Akbar Walter to Batla House, he is enjoying the best phase of his career currently. Now, after playing the lead in a string of patriotic films, John Abraham is all set to don his gangster avatar again in his upcoming movie, Mumbai Saga. John’s first look in the film as a gangster looks intense and will surely give you the glimpse of John in Shootout At Wadala. The look shows John dressed in a kurta-pajama set with a vermillion mark on his forehead, as he intensely stares into the camera.
Mumbai Saga is an action crime film that will feature an ensemble cast of John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Kajal Aggarwal, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Sharman Joshi, Pankaj Tripathi, Samir Soni and Amole Gupte.
The gangster drama is based on true events and is set in the 80s and 90s Mumbai and will reportedly show the story of the changing face of Mumbai. It will talk about how the city changed in that era and how malls and high rise buildings replaced the infamous mills of that time.
The film is being helmed by director Sanjay Gupta, who has directed films like Kaante, Kaabil, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Shootout at Wadala in the past. He shared John’s first look on Twitter with the caption, “One of my favourite moments from MUMBAI SAGA. And of course, Mr Abraham like never before,”
Mumbai Saga will see Sanjay reuniting with John, with whom he has previously worked in Shootout at Wadala. The film will hit the theatre on June 19 2020.
