John And Aditya To Play Villains In ‘Ek Villain’ Sequel
Looks like director Mohit Suri is back to working with his favourite muse - Aditya Roy Kapur! Why we come to this conclusion? Well, not only is Mohit directing Aditya in his next movie, Malang but he has also announced that the Aashique 2 actor will be working in the sequel of his 2014 hit film Ek Villain. According to sources, the film will star John Abraham alongside Aditya and both the actors will be playing villains and not heroes in the movie.
Talking about his plans for the new film, Mohit said, “Ekta and I were looking to create a whole franchise on villains. Shraddha (Kapoor), Sidharth (Malhotra) and Riteish (Deshmukh) have been a part of my biggest films and I love them, but this is a different story, with new characters that refer to the older ones.”
According to Mohit, unlike the first film, the sequel will narrate the story of two villains. He said, “It is essentially villain versus villain. Both Adi and John are playing negative characters.”
This would be the Mohit’s first movie with John, so talking about what pushed him to cast the actor in the movie, he said, “I was an assistant on John’s first film and we have been trying to work with each other for a while. This script proved to be a great platform for two of us to come together and I am excited about it. We start rolling in June.”
Talking about the leading ladies of the film, Mohit adds, “There are two girls in the film. One of them is pretty much a villain as well. It’s a Gone Girl-lish zone and I have to get casting right.”
Besides Ek Villain 2, John has a number of movies waiting up in the pipeline. His next movie, Mumbai Saga, will show the story of the changing face of Mumbai and will have an ensemble cast Emraan Hashmi, Kajal Aggarwal, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Sharman Joshi, Pankaj Tripathi, Samir Soni and Amole Gupte, besides John.
