Matthew McConaughey Makes Instagram Debut
We all remember how the internet broke down as our beloved Rachel Green from F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Jennifer Aniston, joined Instagram in October. Well, it is time for hell to break loose again as Hollywood heartthrob, Matthew McConaughey becomes the latest celebrity to join the social media circus. Matthew decided to join Instagram on November 4, his 50th birthday, with a video where he shared how he was nervous to join Instagram and wanted people to see the real him when they visit his page.
In the minute-long video, Matthew appears on screen and says, "When people come to my page, I want them to see me," the actor said in the video. "Look, this is my first venture into sharing myself and my views with the world and I'm a little bit nervous about it because quite frankly, I know I want to have a monologue... I'm not quite sure I want to have the dialogue. But I know I have to have the dialogue, too [...] So I'm looking forward to it, I'm looking forward to it."
Matthew, however, isn’t new to the world of social media as he has been quite active on Twitter since 2009. He also posted a video about joining Instagram on his Twitter account first. In the video, he said, “Born November 4 1969, got my dad’s name the very same day. But not until I turned 50, today, that I become @officiallymcconaughey. That’s my Instagram handle. See you there.”
The actor is also reportedly all set to play the iconic role of Gotham City’s District Attorney Harvey Dent in the upcoming The Batman by director Matt Reeves. The movie will also see Robert Pattison donning the Batman cape after Ben Affleck and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.
Matthew won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2013 for his performance in the Dallas Buyers Club.
