Quentin Tarantino plans third instalment of Kill Bill franchise
Remember Uma Thurman donning the hat of The Bride in the early 2000s, all set to kill a bunch of assassins and their leader, Bill after they tried to kill her and her unborn child? We are sure you do. Now, we have some good news for all the Kill Bill movie lovers. The samurai movie that saw Uma take to the new levels of stardom, may soon get a third instalment! The news was revealed by the writer and director of the franchise, Quentin Tarantino.
While speaking on Andy Cohen Live, Quentin shared his plans to make the third instalment of the film.
He said, “I just had dinner with Uma Thurman last night. We were at a really cool Japanese restaurant. I do have an idea of what I would do with (Kill Bill Vol. 3). That was the whole thing, conquering the concept. What has happened to The Bride since then? And what do I want to do?”
Although the director has some ideas for the movie, he believes it would take him at least three years to make it happen.
“I didn't just want to come up with some cockamamie adventure. (The character) doesn't deserve that. The Bride has fought long and hard. I have an idea now that could be interesting. I still wouldn't do it for a little bit. It would be at least three years from now. It is definitely in the cards,” he said.
The first two movies were released back-to-back in 2003 and 2004.
Quentin is currently riding high after the success of his last movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The movie starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt and has been a box office success. It has also been nominated for five Golden Globes, including the best director for Quentin.
