Trailer of ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ is Out
Ayushmann Khurrana is back to doing what he does best - taking up a taboo cause and dealing it with comedy and his amazing acting. The trailer of his upcoming film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is out and it shows Ayushmann fighting homophobia with comedy. The film is a same-sex love story between Ayushmann and his lover, who is being played by Jitendra Kumar, and how they make their love acceptable is an otherwise homophobic society that we live in.
The trailer shows Ayushmann playing the role of Kartik Singh who is in love with Aman Tripathi (Jitendra). Kartik is seen insisting Aman to tell his parents about their relationship. Aman, who is being forcefully married to Kusum (Pankhuri Awasthy), is then seen explaining to his parents (played Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta) about his relationship with a man. By the end of the trailer, Aman and Kartik declare their love for each other to the world and kiss in front of their families - a total unexpected move in Indian cinema and something that is gaining a lot of appreciation for the trailer.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’s trailer also sees the leading duo recreating the iconic DDLJ train scene, only this time it is a same sex couple doing the same.
The film is being helmed by Hitesh Kewalya and is a sequel to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, that released in 2017. The original film starred Ayushmann with Bhumi Pednekar and it dealt with the problem of erectile dysfunction in the lead star.
The movie stars some of the best comedy cast from OTT platforms and films like Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Manurishi Chaddha, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy, and Neeraj Singh.
Besides Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Ayushmann will also be seen with Amitabh Bachchan in Gulabo Sitabo.
The film will hit the theaters on February, 21st, 2020.
