Vidya Balan To Step Into The Shoes Of Indira Gandhi

Vidya Balan, who as of late made her Tamil presentation with the Ajith starrer Nerkonda Paarvai, will next make her web series debut. 

She will be seen playing India's previous Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the series that will be founded on Sagarika Ghose's book, Indira: India's Most Powerful Prime Minister. Executive Ritesh Batra of The Lunchbox and Photograph distinction will coordinate the arrangement. 

Despite the fact that an official declaration is yet to be made, Vidya, who has procured the adjustment rights for the book, had recently affirmed during a meeting that she will make her web arrangement debut. She likewise expressed that the substance of the arrangement, that will be created by Ronnie Screwvala, is enormous and it would require a great deal of work. 

“It’s been around two years since I bought the rights to a book on Indira Gandhi, as I wanted to turn the story into a web series. But at that time, I didn’t realise a web series is a completely different format and involves a lot of work. It’s also taking a little long as the format itself is quite elaborate. That’s why writing is also taking time,” says the actor.

“It’s only in 2006 that I was a part of five films. But they were smaller roles, which required me for just 15-20 days on a particular film. But now, the kind of films I am doing, require a lot of prep followed by shooting, dubbing and promotions. All of it takes about five months. So, you anyway can’t do more than two films in a year. Kabhi kabhi, depending on what [script] I like, I may even do one film a year. Woh bhi theek hai,” adds Vidya, who will soon start shooting for her next, a biopic on mathematics genius Shakuntala Devi.

Vidya Balan, last found in the Bollywood film Mission Mangal, will next make her short film debut with Natkhat, which will likewise be the first run through she's co-creating an undertaking. The short movie will be coordinated by Shaan Vyas.
