Cricket runs through the blood of every Indian. The recognition of this infamous game has surpassed all the age bounds, ethnicity and religions. The game which is played almost everywhere holds an indelible history associated with today. This day arguably changed Indian cricket forever. The West Indies were set for a third straight title on 25th June 1983 in England and Wales. Their cricket team was one of the best-known teams in the world. Lead by Sir Clive Lloyd, the team of superstars scored an unbeatable score of 140. The 1983 World Cup was full of dramatic cricket all through the tournament as the countries like Zimbabwe and India, who had almost no ray of hope of getting through the matches scored victories over strong contenders Their second win in the ICC world cup was in 2011 when the Indian cricket team, led by M.S Dhoni triumphed over Sri Lanka in their own home soil.

After making a series of cricket-themed movies like M.S Dhoni: the untold story, Azhar, Kai Po Che and the revolutionary movie, Lagaan, it is ready for another hit. The upcoming movie on cricket, based on the life of Kapil Dev and how his team won the title of cricket world cup tournament. Actor Ranveer Singh will play the lead in the film co-produced by Phantom Films and directed by Kabir Khan. Bollywood Diva Deepika Padukone will be seen as his wife on the reel too.
