Sunny Side Up
How close are you to the character you played in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety?
I would say, I am slightly similar to Titu. We both share characters such as simplicity and respect for others. The one thing I find uncannily similar is what Titu thinks of his future wife. I, too, have a feeling that I would feel alag when I will meet the love of my life.
If in real life, what would you choose between love and friendship?
I think I will choose friendship over love, only for the reason that a friend will always be there for you, no matter what. I can be myself with my friends, which is the greatest gift. There are no judgments or pretence. But in a relationship, if you are not incompatible, it becomes extremely tricky.
You are trained in martial arts.
I started learning martial arts at the age of 16 and still love to practise kicking whenever I get some time.
So, what do you enjoy the most – films or martial arts?
I enjoy both. I am hooked to Netflix these days and devour films and documentaries. For me, it’s usually binge-watching, like a movie marathon. It unwinds me, especially after a hard day’s work. I do not get much time for martial arts.
Your ideal woman is…
Someone who is different! It might sound cheesy but I would know who will be the best for me when I meet her. I like a simple woman who is honest about her feelings. Is it too much to ask?
Do you think a good girlfriend can also be a good wife?
I think it works better if your wife is a friend first and you know each other well. It’s a relationship where you have to take decisions together and it helps if you know each others’ strengths and weaknesses, and you know that you are there for each other no matter what.
What is on your to-do list for this year?
First thing first, I want to get fitter. And of course, I would like to take up more films.
And on your don’t do list?
It’s a simple wish. I will stay away from all kinds of negative thoughts.
