Who won what at MTV Movie & TV Awards
After the two biggest award shows, Oscar and Grammy, the television screens were all set for the much awaited MTV Movie & TV Awards 2019. This year the ceremony took place on Monday, June 17 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The show was actually recorded over the weekend so that the viewers could take a look at some of the best-dressed stars on the social media. The red carpet sizzled with glamour as it saw a plethora of new actors making their debut as well as the popular faces killing us bold and sexy avatars.
The awards ceremony, hosted by Chuck star Zachary Levi, drew 1.8 million viewers across different channels streaming the pomp show. The 38-year-old actor is most recently known for his work in Shazam and Thor: The Dark World. The list included MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, BET and CMT which had the maximum number of views.
The much-anticipated title of Best movie was bagged by Avengers: Endgame, which is a sci-fi superhero film and the last part of the avenger series produced by Marvel Studios. After getting the title of ‘the highest grossing film ever’ after Avatar, the movie will re-release this year with new post-credit scene and extra-surprises.
Another celebrated title of the best TV show had an obvious win. Game of Thrones, the second most-watched drama series on IMDb took home the trophy for the title.
Last year, winners included Black Panther, Stranger Things, Girls Trip, and Wonder Woman. Martin Garrix teamed up with Macklemore and Patrick Stump for the first-ever performance of "Summer Days. “Other than that, American singer Lizzo marked her debut televised performance.
One striking difference from the previous year ceremonies was that this time all the awards were gender neutral. There were no best actor or actress but a category encompassing both the genders. This was a revolution in itself.
