You'll be missed, Chester Bennington
Many of us grew up with the angry voice of Linkin Park screaming on our speakers “I am one step closer to the edge. And I am about to break.” The man behind that voice was Chester Bennington. He always knew how to invoke emotions from us.
Chester for years had struggled in his personal life with Drug and Alcohol use and you could feel that in Linkin Park songs. Even though LP’s albums had mellowed quite a bit in recently, you could still feel the barely contained angst in Chester's voice.
He lost his struggle against his personal demons late last night. He was just 41 years of age. The coroner confirmed the cause of death as Suicide. Mike Shinoda the freestyle rapper and producer of Linkin Park confirmed the news with his tweet “Shocked and heartbroken, but it's true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”
We wish all the members of Bennington’s family and LP our deepest condolences. Because Chester’s loss is a true loss to music around the world and he will be missed.
