Feast Of Fusion

Located in the heart of New Delhi, The Imperial Spice offers a royal and delicious treatment, as inspired by its name. This stellar restaurant has recently increased the choices for its guests, with the new additions to its palette. The menu is tailored with an idea of maintaining the gastronomic equilibrium between the authentic and the exotic. With a wide-ranging assortment of delectable delicacies, the intriguing menu of the dining venue is well-suited for Indian food lovers. The majestic brass decor and glass furnishings enhance the royalty of the place. The welcoming hospitality allows one to bask into the warm ambience of the entire setting.

Celebrating different cultures and their cuisines, its menu has a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes to offer. Starting our culinary expedition from Ghewar Chaat and Masala Paneer Gujiya, we were intrigued by the preparation and the concept behind these appetisers. The former dish was a good combination of texture and flavour. The crispiness of the Ghewar and the tangy taste of the different chutneys made it a good starter to begin with. On the other hand, the remake of the Gujiya with paneer stuffing was a little dry for the palette. However, those who want to try something new can still go for it.

Moving on to the main course, we wanted to satiate our taste buds with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Hence, we ordered Fafda Kadhi with Ghee Pulao and Chukandari Gosht with Rumaali Roti. The evident flavours of the authentic ingredients used were giving the Kadhi a home-like feeling, syncing well with the Ghee Pulao. Chukandari Gosht, the non- vegetarian meal had beetroot in colour along with the garnish, but it did not hamper or overtake the taste of the lamb. For satisfying the sweet tooth, we did not want to have a regular dessert, hence we tried this variation. Tandoori Rasgulla is a smoke flavoured sponge rasgulla which is served with rabri. In a nutshell, Imperial Spice is an opulent fine-dining experience for those who like inter-mingled flavours with authenticity maintained.
